Pretty in Prague

Sunset over Charles Bridge
I spent Christmas in Prague this year. I have heard so many good things about Prague and they were all true! I felt like a Disney Princess in a Disney village the entire time.

Heading towards the Christmas Market

The Christmas Market that was taking place there was just an added bonus. We stuffed ourselves with traditional Czech sausages, huge chunks of beef on a spit roast, Czech dumplings, Beef Goulash, Czech style gnocchi with sauerkraut. I took a huge shining to the Goulash and demanded that we had one meal of it every day.

It took us so long to decide where we wanted to stay and I kept changing my mind, but after speaking to some people they all unanimously agreed with The Mandarin Oriental. It is a little bit pricey but it was worth every penny spent. They make one of the best hot chocolate and hot white chocolate I've ever had. The service was immaculate and the hotel is simply stunning.

On our first night we dined at a beautiful restaurant called Kampa Park over looking the river (http://www.kampagroup.com/en/restaurants/kampa-park-restaurant.html). We were seated in the River Terrace area. The city and river looked so beautiful when it is lit up at night.

We met a Czech guy while we were in Singapore who told us that we must not miss the one michelin starred restaurant called La Degustation (http://www.ladegustation.cz/en/). We took his advice and did not regret. With a choice of either a seven or ten course tasting menu, the restaurant serves Czech food with a modern twist. Not all courses will be to everyone's taste, I had to kindly offer my ox tongue to my boyfriend who thankfully does not say no to anything. The service was excellent and personable, we felt very looked after the entire night. The restaurant sits only 40 people so I would suggest that you book early!

For the best Italian food in town (and I believe they may be receiving a Michelin Star soon) please head to CuttoCrudo in the Four Seasons Hotel. (http://www.fourseasons.com/prague/dining/?c=t&_s_icmp=mmenu)

  1. My sweetheart and I spent a week in Pragueabout a month ago. I just love it. I want more. The food is wonderful. What a gem this whole city is. It's clean and we never felt any crime threat. Maybe we managed to avoid the wrong places.
    Beautiful pictures. Thanks
